Dynamic wooden façade with horizontal slats and contrasting foundation

#10191. Dynamic wooden façade with horizontal slats and contrasting foundation

Before us is an impressive example of modern architecture, clearly demonstrating the contrast between a dark brick foundation and warm wooden cladding on the upper floors. The façade's distinctive feature is the horizontal wooden slats that frame the upper part of the building, creating an effect of fluidity and organic form. The rounded corners of the upper floors with their lamellae add dynamism to the structure and soften the overall geometry of the building.

The architect masterfully used contrasting materials: the austere dark gray brick of the lower level serves as a visual foundation, emphasizing the lightness and warmth of the copper-brown wooden finish of the upper floors. Metal columns supporting the projecting parts of the building add structural clarity and serve as an interesting structural element of the façade.

Large windows provide abundant natural light and create a rhythmic composition on the façade. The smooth ramp leading to the main entrance makes the building accessible and harmoniously fits into the overall composition. The surrounding greenery emphasizes the ecological approach to design.

In personal construction, similar techniques can be adapted through the use of contrasting materials, applying wooden slats to create a dynamic façade, rounding corners to soften the geometry of the house, and incorporating large windows to provide natural lighting. Even in a small private home, elements of horizontal cladding can create a modern image and visually expand the space.
