Rosstandart approved new standards for attaching the thermal insulation layer of facade systems

From March 1, 2019 two new GOSTs for plate anchors for fixing the thermal insulation layer in facade thermal insulation composite systems with external plaster layers are introduced on the territory of the Russian Federation.

GOST P 58359-2019 regulates technical requirements for disk anchors, their construction, temperature range of operation, material of disk dowel, conditions of transportation and storage, installation parameters of anchorage.

The GOST R 58360-2019 establishes the methods and conditions for testing disc anchors and anchor fixings.

Till this time the requirements to plate anchors were not regulated at all. With the advent of GOST the situation did not change radically, this certification is voluntary and does not oblige to anything, it is enough to have technical certificate.

S.V. Alekhin, president of the Facade Union and general director of the Center of Facade Systems points to a number of other problems. Firstly the confinement of the approved standard for a certain manufacturer i.e. the direct influence of business. Secondly, the purchase of fake certificates of conformity by manufacturers without conducting necessary research and tests.

In essence the area of application of insulation plugs is the attachment of any thermal insulation materials to any substrate and this means a direct connection with durability and reliability of facades.

According to S.V. Alekhin, anchors are not used in the Russian Federation as of 2019 and their production is complicated by high technological requirements, because of their high cost and the need to reduce the cost of construction of facilities.
