30 Years of ARCH MOSCOW. In search of architecture’s “Essence,” May 21–24

The international exhibition-forum ARCH MOSCOW, which will take place from May 21 to 24, 2025, is a large-scale event in the fields of architecture, design, and construction. This year, the exhibition celebrates its 30th anniversary, bringing together more than 200 participants and over 200 events.

The main theme of ARCH MOSCOW 2025 is “Essence.” The theme aims to explore the core aspects of architecture, design, and urban planning, while addressing pressing questions about creating a comfortable urban environment and finding innovative solutions in construction.

1. Round Table: “Concrete and Neurons: What Do Psychology and Architecture Have in Common?”

Date: May 21

A discussion of how architectural decisions affect people’s psychological well-being. The session will explore approaches to creating a comfortable environment in private homes, including the use of natural materials, spatial ergonomics, and designs that promote relaxation. Homeowners will discover how architecture can improve quality of life through thoughtful design.

2. Discussion: “Behind the Façade: Who or What Shapes a Project’s Image?”

Date: May 21

Experts will discuss how to balance beauty and practicality when designing residential buildings. Special attention will be given to taking homeowners’ needs into account during the design process.

3. Strategic Session: “Smart Home”

Date: May 23

A round table led by Anatoly Kurmanov, Chairman of the Expert Council of the ANO “Smart City Competence Center,” will explore the present and future of smart homes—in both apartment complexes and private housing. Key topics include who is driving demand for smart technologies in housing, the roles of the government and the private sector, and who sets the standards and rules.

4. Lecture by the Architect: A Completed Project by Totan Kuzembaev

Date: May 21

Architect Totan Kuzembaev will share his experience completing one of his landmark private-home projects. The lecture will cover the stages of design and construction, the common and unique challenges involved, and how they were addressed.

5. Exhibition: “New Moscow Style”

Date: All exhibition days

An exploration of contemporary architectural trends in Moscow, with a focus on low-rise construction. The exhibition showcases typical solutions for private homes within the local context.

6. Discussion: Neural Networks in Architecture

Date: May 21

A discussion of the use of neural networks in residential design. Examples will show how AI is used to visualize private-home projects and optimize construction processes.
