Parametric wooden facade with undulating deformation

#9368. Parametric wooden facade with undulating deformation

The presented architectural object demonstrates an impressive example of modern parametric facade design. The main feature of the building is an expressive wooden facade with rhythmic horizontal perforation, creating a louver effect. The undulating deformation on the side of the structure deserves special attention, as it adds dynamism and plasticity to the entire volume.

The facade is made of wooden lamellas, creating a warm contrast with the surrounding urban development. The horizontal articulation with vertical gaps forms a play of light and shadow, giving the building lightness and airiness despite its massive volume. The solution for the corner of the building is particularly interesting, where the wooden cladding bends, creating a smooth transition between planes.

For private housing, such an approach can be adapted as a partial facade solution—for example, for a veranda or entrance area. A screening facade made of wooden lamellas allows regulating the degree of privacy and insolation while creating an expressive architectural image. It's important to consider that wood requires regular treatment with protective compounds to increase its service life in outdoor conditions.

We redesign facades of cottages.
