Dualistic Facade: Concrete and Timber Hillside Residence

#7707. Dualistic Facade: Concrete and Timber Hillside Residence

This modern house is an expressive example of architecture where concrete and wood are skillfully combined. The facade is characterized by a contrasting combination of materials: monolithic concrete elements create a solid foundation, while wooden cladding adds warmth and organic quality to the structure. Particularly noteworthy is the cantilevered projection of the second floor, which extends forward, creating dynamic tension and a sheltered space underneath.

The geometry of the building is laconic – clean lines and simple forms emphasize the functionality of the structure. Small window openings on the wooden part of the facade provide natural lighting while maintaining the privacy of interior spaces. The gabled roof with metal covering completes the composition, providing protection from precipitation and harmoniously blending with the surrounding forest landscape.

The location of the house on a hill emphasizes its connection with the natural environment. The foundation of stone masonry elegantly transitions into the surrounding landscape, while the minimalist gravel driveway serves as an unobtrusive addition to the overall composition. This object demonstrates a skillful combination of the brutality of concrete with the natural warmth of wood, creating a dwelling that simultaneously stands out in the natural environment and harmoniously merges with it.
