#19701. Modern facade with contrasting textures: wood, stone and concrete in minimalist design

This modern house represents an excellent example of minimalist architecture, where the contrast of materials and textures becomes the main accent. The facade is designed in a laconic geometric form with clean lines and pronounced horizontality. The upper volume seems to float above the lower level, creating dynamic tension in the composition.
Special attention should be paid to the thoughtful combination of materials: the upper part of the facade is faced with light stone and vertical wooden slats of a warm hue, which adds natural warmth to the strict form of the building. The stonework of the lower level, made of rough natural stone in brownish tones, creates a solid foundation and visually anchors the structure in the landscape. The contrast between the smooth surfaces of the upper volume and the textured stonework of the lower level forms an expressive architectural dialogue.
The laconic volume of the building is emphasized by minimalist landscape design: a long narrow pool with turquoise water, a wooden terrace, and decorative gravel with succulents create a Mediterranean character for the outdoor space. Large glazed surfaces on the lower level provide a visual connection between interior and exterior spaces.
When designing a private house facade, several techniques from this project can be adopted: contrasting combination of materials (stone, wood, concrete), use of horizontal lines to visually expand the space, extension of the upper volume to create shaded areas and play with volumes. Vertical wooden slats can serve not only as a decorative element but also as functional sun protection, which is especially relevant for southern regions.
