#17282. Modern two-story house with a contrasting facade of concrete and light plaster

The modern residential building presented before us demonstrates an expressive example of minimalist architecture with a clear separation of volumes. The two-story structure is characterized by a contrasting facade solution: the lower floor is made of raw exposed concrete, while the upper level is finished in light tones, creating an effect of lightness and airiness.

Special attention should be paid to the wooden soffit of the roof overhang, which adds warmth and organic quality to the overall composition. This solution is not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional—protecting the upper floor from direct sunlight. The panoramic glazing of the first floor provides an excellent visual connection with the surrounding landscape and swimming pool, blurring the boundary between internal and external space.

The laconic facade design of the building is complemented by minimalist landscaping: a neat lawn and geometric pool emphasize the modern aesthetics of the architectural solution. Large potted plants near the entrance area serve as accents that bring a living touch to the overall strict composition.

When designing your own facade, you can adopt several techniques from this project: contrasting combination of materials (concrete + light plaster + wood), use of horizontal lines to visually expand the space, as well as a well-thought-out system of projections and overhangs that not only form the architectural appearance but also perform a protective function against atmospheric precipitation and sun.
