Contemporary facade with traditional thatched roof and glass volumes

#12471. Contemporary facade with traditional thatched roof and glass volumes

This is an impressive example of a modern interpretation of traditional architecture, where a classic thatched roof is organically combined with minimalist glass volumes. The building facade presents a striking contrast of materials - traditional reed roofing with its characteristic slope juxtaposed against extensive glass surfaces in metal frames.

The solution for the left part of the structure is particularly interesting, where the glass volume with a triangular completion becomes an extension of the roof geometry, creating an effect of transparency and lightness for the entire construction. The dark metal profiles of the glass structures create a clear rhythm and graphic quality to the facade, emphasizing its contemporary character.

The architect masterfully works with the landscape - the building literally hovers above the water surface, reflecting in it and creating a visual extension of the architecture. The concrete terrace with minimalist furniture serves as an intermediate space between interior and exterior, while tall decorative grasses in containers add naturalness and connect the architecture with the surrounding nature.

In designing your own facade, you could adopt techniques such as contrasting combinations of traditional and modern materials, the use of large glazed surfaces to connect with the landscape, and clear geometric forms. It's also important to consider the surrounding landscaping, which can become an organic extension of the house architecture.
