Dual Facade: Wood and Dark Finish Contrast in a Contemporary Home

#11686. Dual Facade: Wood and Dark Finish Contrast in a Contemporary Home

This modern residential house represents an excellent example of harmonious combination of various materials and textures. The facade is divided into several contrasting sections, creating a dynamic composition. The upper floor is clad with warm wooden panels installed vertically, giving the building an organic, natural character. Particularly interesting is the rhythm play on the second floor facade, where vertical wooden slats are placed with intervals, creating the effect of a semi-transparent screen.

The lower level is executed in dark tones using smooth stucco and vertical slatted elements, forming a strict geometric structure. The black finish of the lower part emphasizes the impression that the upper wooden volume seems to float above the base. Large windows with minimalist frames provide abundant natural lighting to the interior spaces, as well as create an interesting dialogue between interior and exterior space.

The entrance area uses the same materials, which maintains the integrity of the architectural solution. The landscape design with minimalist elements and a well-maintained lawn harmoniously complements the modern aesthetics of the building.

When designing your own facade, several techniques demonstrated in this project can be adopted: contrasting combination of materials (wood and dark stucco), use of vertical elements to create rhythm and texture, playing with volumes (protruding and recessed parts of the facade), as well as thoughtful zoning using different materials to designate functional areas of the building.
